Researchers from the Reproduction Unit of the Clinic Vistahermosa create the first virtual simulator for training embryologists in techniques of micromanipulation

In Spain more than 800,000 couples are infertile and the number of new cases grows every year. Given the difficulties faced by these couples to conceive naturally, many are turning to assisted reproductive techniques. For this reason, research in this field does not stop. Proof of this is the last great progress made by researchers from the Reproduction Unit of the Alicante Vistahermosa Clinic and the Elche University Miguel Hernández. This is the EmbryoTraining: the first virtual simulator for training embryologists in techniques of micromanipulation.
This pioneering device was developed to allow an appropriate training of embryologists work environment played an embryology laboratory using a control console and a computer application that simulates the real micromanipulator laboratory technique used in assisted reproduction. In this case, embryologists can improve their technique of microinjection using this system without taking virtual laboratory without the use of biological material, while achieving significant cost reductions. EmbryoTraining is designed for use in all assisted reproduction centers equipped with an embryology laboratory and specialized schools in this area. The simulator is easy to use, convenient and portable, so the user can train outside the lab on your own computer or laptop.
